Death of an iPod

So, my iPod died.
Since the start of the Olympics started up, I'm enjoying my time glued to the TV. I've really been into women's soccer, beach volleyball, and swimming. In the past I stuck to gymnastics and diving - but this year I'm gung ho for pretty much everything. I want to see if Michael Phelps can break Mark Spitz's record of 7 gold medals. I think he can do it, since I swear the kid is part fish.
i justify my obessive watching with pride in my country and the fact that it happens every four years and not every day. I hope that women's gymnastics will make it happen when it counts, but I'm not sure after watching last night. I guess we'll see.
Since my parents were out of town the last few days, I was strongarmed and manhandled asked to house sit for my parents. It usually isn't a big deal, and in the past it really wasn't because I was still living at home. However, since I got married and moved out, it became a hell of a chore. I had to dive over there four times a day to take care of the dog. First thing in the morning to let the dog out, feed the dog and feed the cats. Late morning/early afternoon to let the dog out and check on the cats. Late afternoon/early evening to let the dog out and check on the cats. Late evening to let the dog out, check on the cats, feed the hamster and then feed the fish. Four four days.
Part of this delightful routine included cleaning out the litter boxes (I had no idea how much bodily waste two kittens could produce until then) and watering my mother's plants. Not a big deal, since I'm fairly familiar with both. But while watering the plants, my iPod fell into a puddle. It put up a valiant effort to survive, but the puddle won. So I get to go out and get a new one because, dammit!, despite my original intent to never own one, now that I have I can't go back.
Once you've gone Mac, you'll never go back - or something to that effect.
I decided to look online to start pricing iPods, and found out thatWally World Wal-Mart has the best buy, as their iPods currently $25.00 less than anywhere else, including Best Buy and Target. At that price I'm thinking I'll get the 8 GB pink iPod (it's only $174 vs $199) so that I can at least attempt to put the bulk of my music on to it. I will say one thing about back to school sales, even if you're not going back to school you can still take advantage of them
