CAPS LOCK CANNOT CONVEY MY FANGIRL JOY

DUDE.  HALLMARK HAS JUST RELEASED THE LIST OF THE KEEPSAKE ORNAMENTS FOR THIS YEAR.

I usually end up buying birthday/Christmas/special occasion cards at Hallmark because it's close to where I live.  Not too long ago I signed up for the Gold Crown Rewards because, let's face it, the store does have some nifty giftage type stuff on top of wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons, etc.  Which I do buy there.  And earn points.  So I can get stuff either for free or for a discount.

Anyway, I got an email stating that the new Keepsake Ornaments are out, and in my family it's tradition to get a new ornament every year.  What this has done is made only the largest of trees acceptable in order to get the ornaments on said tree.  I already got my ornament for the year (it's hand made porcelain with a fairy on it, which I picked up at the Allied Arts Show) but I've found more that I want.  I want to get the Mickey's Christmas Carol series (yes, series, as in there will be a new one EVERY SINGLE YEAR until the characters all have their own ornaments), the new Where The Wild Things Are (for you to truly understand this, I already have one Where The Wild Things Are ornament, checks, address labels, tee-shirt, and off course, the book), as well as finding one for me and my husband.

My dorkitude knows no bounds at this point.  X3

I worked at Hallmark for a year and I know all the ornament stuff. The Bob Cratchit Mickey is cute in person! :)

And for your hubby... tell him about the Ghostbusters car. It plays the theme song. ;-)

Hallmark pretty uniformly creeps me out. It must be popular since they seem to have stores everywhere.

I think it is because in my experience people who appear 'perfectly normal' turn out to be the dangerous perverts, while people who have a few rough edges aren't hiding anything and you pretty much get what you expect. The former tend to use cutesy Hallmark-y things as cover and camoflage for their perversity.

So even if the vast majority of Hallmark buyers are ordinary folk, the stuff still creeps me out.
