That time of the year and all that

lukecanwaltz88 today! *does the Snoopy dance* Thanks a bunch, hon! I don't think I have enough time to send you a Christmas card in return, but I'll try to shoot you a New Year's card.
Secondly, finished Slayers NEXT while finishing up my present wrapping this afternoon. I noticed at the end of the series they starting pairing everyone off, including canon foreigners Martina and Zangulus - the latter being paired together. Much to my amusement. I'll probably start in on Slayers Try here before too much longer. I have no idea what to expect, as from Try on I haven't seen any episodes. But I'm really enjoying the series. Count me as one of the faithfully converted.
Anyway, real life marches on. My dad rolls into town in less than a week, my mom and her mom have their birthday on Sunday and I think I need to deep clean the apartment one more time on the off chance that my dad is, in fact, going to stay here. I've also nearly completed the high school scrapbook. I only have a handful of pictures from freshman and sophomore year, especially since I didn't get my first camera until the end of my freshman year. I have quite a few pictures from junior and senior year, but they're darn near all the same. It is kind of fun going though them, though. So many memories. Not all of them pleasant, but there's nothing to be gained by forgetting them.

Date: 2010-12-17 01:32 am (UTC)Secondly, yes it is really hilarious that those two were paired off together. It's the look on his face after the wedding (and Martina in what appears to be the wedding dress of doom!) when perhaps he's realizing just what he's gotten himself into.

Date: 2010-12-17 01:48 am (UTC)Personally, I think Try engages in character mutilation among some of the main cast that's thankfully rectified in Revolution/Evolution-R. I enjoyed Try OK and it's better than a lot of other anime out there, but personally it's my least-favorite of the Slayers anime. I'm interested to hear your take on it once you watch it.
Edit: And the end of Next still makes me cry after first watching it nearly six years ago.
