As of this week, all of my summer shows are in full swing. :D

Monday:
Eureka 8 PM
Warehouse 13 9 PM

I started watching both of these shows because of my husband. With Eureka, my husband found a marathon one afternoon and sat me down stating, "If PNNL had an unlimited research budget, this is probably what you would get."

And he was right. Further more, I enjoyed the witty writing (okay, it's pretty witty in my opinion, but naturally your mileage may vary), the interesting characters, and the fact that I could relate to it.

As to Warehouse 13, it became a matter of it was on and I just sat down with my husband and started watching. This was half way through the second season, mind you. But thank goodness for Netflix, or else I would have been really lost. I got caught up on the first season and had enough background on the second season to be able to follow along. Monday nights are my husband and I's TV nights.

Tuesday:
White Collar 9 PM
Covert Affairs 10 PM

I really didn't start watching either show with any sort of regularity until this season. I would watch the occasional episode during the original run, but for the most part I didn't really start watching them until they were doing re-runs. I had always liked the shows, but hadn't felt any real compulsion to watch them regularly until I had seen a good chunk of each series. As it stands I have the first season of Covert Affairs in my Netflix queue, with a possibility to get the rest of the seasons of White Collar to get caught up (I'm familiar enough with the over-arcing storyline that I'm not totally lost, though).

Wednesday:
Royal Pains 9 PM
Necessary Roughness 10 PM

I started watching Royal Pains regularly about three episodes in. For the most part it was on after Burn Notice so I would leave it on as background noise as I poked around on my computer. But the more I watched it, the more I enjoyed the great characters and clever writing.

I decided to give Necessary Roughness a try since it came on immediately after Royal Pains. I found the premise intriguing, and I was right. The protagonist is going through a divorce, has teenagers who are acting out, and a floundering psychiatry practice. She is by no means perfect. Her big break comes when she's hired by the local pro football team to get their star wide receiver back on track. Loosely based on the team psychiatrist for the New York Jets, Necessary Roughness has the over-arcing plot of Dani's family life and her work with the wide receiver, as well as a Once-An-Episode client that comes to her when they hear about her work. So far I'm enjoying it, because the characters are all flawed enough to have some interesting and engaging character development as the series continues.

Thursday:
Burn Notice 9 PM

Thursday is a one show night, mostly because I can't get into the new show, Suits. I haven't been watching Burn Notice from the beginning, but I'm all caught up thanks to Netflix. I think half the fun for me with this is show is watching it and noting all of the locations around Miami I've actually been to. (I do believe it's only a matter of time before they film something at Villa Vizcaya.) Things have been changing for Mike, and I'm interested to see where this recent development goes.

Friday:
Haven 10 PM

Oh Haven, how I have missed thee. And keeping up with Emily Rose and Eric Balfour on Twitter just isn't cutting it anymore.

I started watching Haven after Eureka last summer mostly out of curiosity. I'm not a huge Stephen King fan, but I have enjoyed some of his other works (mostly the dramas, like The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile) so I thought that I'd give Haven a chance. And I loved it. I remember sitting on pins and needles after the first season wrapped because the show's fate was up in the air - thankfully SyFy renewed it and while I have no doubt that we'll be betting MORE questions in season two, I'm sure we'll start getting answers as well.

At any rate, I'm glad to have my summer programming back. A few of these shows also do winter seasons, but for the most part they're almost all exclusively summer shows. Yes, it's kind of hard to wait for summer to come so I can watch them, but I think that the fandoms should keep me going through the rest of the year.
