IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.)
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.
I suppose this music shows just how odd I am. Or just how diverse my tastes in music are.
Opening Credits:
"Everlasting Story" - Akemi Satou from the Fushigi Yugi OVA soundtrack
I think they used it for the opening credits at one point. Or maybe it was the closing credits? Insert song? Hm...maybe I should rewatch it.
Waking Up:
"Hakuna Matata" - Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Joseph Williams, The Lion King Soundtrack
Oddly appropriate for that whole waking up, I-don't-give-a-fuck-about-anything montage. Though maybe Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" would have worked better. XD
First Day at School:
"Walk the Plank" - Hollywood Studio Orchestra from the Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl soundtrack.
Yuuuup. Intense, wary, trying to make it through the hallways unscathed by upperclassmen. It sort of fit the first day of my freshman year of high school.
Falling in Love:
"Cry to Me" - Solomon Burke from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack
Mmmhmm. Yeah, this works. The idea that you're falling in love with someone you can never have, only to realize that there is someone who loves you and would do anything for you.
Fight Song:
"Overboard" - Poets of the Fall
Seeing as the song is about picking yourself up when things get shitty because you have to keep going, yup, I'd say this works.
Breaking Up:
"ID" - Flow War from the Saiyuki: RELOAD soundtrack.
Yeah, this one works. It's melancholy and contemplative.
Prom:
"High School Never Ends" - Bowling for Soup
OMG YES. THIS. THIS SO VERY MUCH.
Life is Good:
"I Touch Myself" - The Devynals
Submitted without comment.
Mental Breakdown:
"You Don't Own Me" - The Blow Monkeys from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack
I suppose if the mental breakdown was caused by an overbearing significant other, then yes, this would be perfect for it.
Driving:
"Circle of Friends" - David Lanz
Yeah, I suppose if I were on a road trip with my friends and we were just driving along and enjoying the scenery, maybe on our way to a picnic.
Flashback:
"I Think We're Alone Now" - Tiffany
Since I'd be flashing back to the eighties, yes, this fits. XD
Getting Back Together:
"Carry On Wayward Son" - Kansas
Umm, sure, why not?
Wedding:
"Spanish Dance" - Tchaikovsky, from Swan Lake
Given that I'm Hispanic, sure this works. Not as well as perhaps another song, but it certainly doesn't not fit.
Paying the Dues:
"I'll Be Your Everything (Rap)" - Youngstown
Wow, forgot I had this in iTunes. XD Anyway, sure, why not.
Night Before War:
"Dirty Diana" - Michael Jackson
Hmmm...the idea of someone going off to war when they don't want to, while others are being seduced by the "glamor" of it, if you feel like getting philosophical about it.
Final Battle:
"Elephant Love Medley" - Ewan McGreggor and Nicole Kidman, from the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack
If the final battle involves trying to win the love a woman, sure, why not?
Moment of Triumph:
"This One's for the Girls" - Martina McBride
I'm not entirely sure how this works, but I can't shake the feeling that it does.
Death Scene:
"Doctor Jones" - Aqua
Yeah, no. This is just weird for a death song.
Funeral Song:
"The Beautiful People [From Burlesque]" - Christina Aguilera from Burlesque
I guess this means I'm a beautiful corpse?
End Credits:
"Rin's Song" - Mamiko Noto
Shortest. Credits. EVER. But I suppose in some ways it works?
