It's All Relative
Dec. 3rd, 2007 11:00 pmMy fiance finally told his parents that we had made the decision to get married. Know what that got me? A huge hug from his mother and a "I'm so happy for you" while I was at work. She said that she hoped that I wasn't too embarrassed, which surprisingly I wasn't. I think I was in more shock than anything else. Connie has always been nice to me, but that was the first time I've ever had any sort of show of outward affection towards me - ever. Hmmmm.
In other news, I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping. After spending an hour on BarnesandNoble.com, I took care of most of my list (with the exception of the two people I had already taken care of and one where I have to buy the gift elsewhere). In it for me was the lastest volume of ShutterBox and a free red travel bag. I spent over $75 online...which meant I got a free travel bag (MSRP about $16.00). Who am I to pass up free stuff, especially in the form of a gym bag? Yes, I do have nice, matching luggage which I use for all major traveling, but for overnighters at friends' houses or two day trips or so, and since the travel bag I got when I was ten is falling apart, clearly I need a new one. And why knock free stuff?
