Mwahahahaha!
Jun. 12th, 2008 10:51 amSo it's convention time around these parts. No, no, RadCon isn't until this fall, I'm more talking along the lines of Anime Expo, and then next year's Sakura-con. I really want to go to Sakura-con next year, and I might just be able to swing it. I was thinking that I could drive up to E-burg and meet
travellyrand perhaps carpool up with her. It's not that I couldn't go by myself, I'd just rather go with someone experienced.
As to the great costume debate, I was thinking that I could cosplay first and foremost as a Mardi Gras lolita. You know, purple, green and gold with a mask and a basket full of beads. My goal would then be to see how many people I could get to flash me (and at a con you never know...) to earn beads, and the ultimate goal would be to see if I could get one of the guests of honor to flash me. If Scott McNeil is there, I know I could get him to flash me. Of course I'd need someone right next to me to see if they could snap a picture of him flashing me. Then I'd post it all over the internet, and it'd be hilarious. Freakin' brilliant, actually. My other costume would probably be Ayame from Inuyasha. I have a sketch I did of the overall costume layout somewhere, it's just a matter of if I could actually pull it off. Otherwise I was thinking that I could go as Sheena from Tales of Symphonia. Her costume would be freakishly easy to make, and most of it would actually be bought whole. Very little sewing required, and what sewing is required would be really, really easy. My main concern is that I'd need at least three yards of fabric just for her sash... I'd also need to buy a black, shoulder length (or slightly longer) wing that I'd then have to style into that funky ponytail (woo! hair product!). From there I'd need to probably make some loose black trousers or just buy some black leggings, then make covers to make the illusion of her boots (that would go over my black Sketchers, most comfortable footwear EVER). A pair of black shoulder length gloves with the fingers cut off and a couple of covers to make her gloves, and I'm home free.
Now I just need someone who's willing to tie the sash...
