[livejournal.com profile] travellyr graduated from Central Washington University yesterday, which meant we all went up to Ellensburg yesterday to watch her walk across the stage and receive her diploma. Other people who went up included her parents and brother, aunt, uncle, adopted parents (as in the parents of friends who have known Trav since high school), and a whole gaggle of friends, including [livejournal.com profile] desertkitsune , [livejournal.com profile] irksnapple , [profile] forgotten_relic , [livejournal.com profile] chaosblue , Ericka, Sabrina and myself. After we all went to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, which is one of the few places in town that can fit 20+ people in one room at one time at one table. Lunch was on Trav's Dad, and after that the parents and other relatives left while us girls hung around Ellensburg until the Bar Noir started at nine. This included a run to Fred Meyer where we poked around and bought some stuff (I got a new bra and some sun glasses) before heading downtown to poke around the shops there.

So after a quick stop in at a piercing and tattoo parlor (where they had some really awesome clothes and jewelry), we stopped into a shop that specializes in imports. We affectionately called it the Import Store - most of their stuff comes from India and Africa. I was poking around the sale rack looking at tops and skirts before I wandered in and found a cute sundress. I wasn't sure if I was going to get it, but I didn't see the harm in trying it on - it's a very pretty cerulean blue, teal like color with a very interesting pattern in neutral tones. I came out of the dressing room looking a little nervous. I'm a little chubby and the dress doesn't exactly hide it well (well, it doesn't hide it at ALL). However there was no denying that my coloring works well with the color of the dress. I looked good which is surprising. So I made a $45 impulse buy yesterday (that's including tax), on a hand made silk dress from India. Now I have to find matching shoes.

Trav the grad bought some Henna, which Irk and Ericka used to create art on her back and legs. Of course, she also fell asleep with Kleenex shoved up her nose so she was making cute little snorting and snoring noise through out Kill Bill vol. 2. We also had the great BPAL (Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab) sniff-a-thon, where vials of perfume were passed around, tried on, and monitored to see how they aged and how our own body chemistry affected the scents. After Thai food, we all went out to Bar Noir, a faux bar in the back of a local art gallery where they show weird B movies and serve drinks and snacks while everyone sort of watches the movies, listens to music, and chat.  I was with Ericka and Sabrina so we couldn't hang around for too long because both had church today and we wanted to get home with enough time to get some sleep.

I got home at one, got to bed at one-thirty, and then was woken up at nine because my husband didn't know when I came in (he was fast asleep and there was no waking him), so he woke me up so I wouldn't get enough sleep.

Too bad I didn't get enough sleep ANYWAY.  So now I'm half asleep, not wanting to cook or do anything of importance (hey, I cleaned the damn bathroom and the bedroom today) and facing the prospect of actually having to cook even though all I want to do is sleep.
