So my wedding band and engagement ring are due for their 6 month inspection. I take them in to the jewelers and they look them over and if any stones are loose they take the ring and make the necessary repairs so I don't loose any of the diamonds. Six months ago the wedding band was fine but there were some loose stones in the engagement ring. Two weeks later I got it back, shinier and not in danger of loosing any stones.
Admittedly the ring isn't due for its inspection until next week, but still. I was probably going to take it in this weekend simply because I was going to be out and about and in that neck of the woods anyway.
So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning, went about my morning routine, and then finally looked at my hands as I checked my email this morning and saw that one of the stone was missing from my wedding band. Instantly worried, I decided that I would start at the place where I spent all night to see if the stone was there.
Thankfully the diamond was sitting innocently on the mattress, winking at me from the overhead light.
Today I'll be running to the jewelry store to drop it off for repairs unless I decide to wait until tomorrow while my husband and I are out doing our errands.
