mercy_angel_09So it's President's Day and my husband has the day off from work. We're planning on running some errands this afternoon, which were mostly hindered by the impending arrival of my saree. Well, my saree arrived about ten minutes ago, which I promptly opened up and squeed over. It's gorgeous. I have it on my dress maker's dummy at the moment but I promise that I'll put it on later this afternoon and have my husband take a couple of photos so you can see it.
I opted for a pre-stitched saree, meaning that it's already got the pleats sewn in, along with the hooks to keep it wrapped up. I only need help with the blouse (which has hook and eye closures on the back seam)and I can get dressed in ten minutes. When it comes to a saree, that is a BIG DEAL. It's the perfect color of pink, came with a relatively matching necklace (it was a free gift when I bought the saree), and the best part is that it's art silk, so it's solid and covers my midriff. I just need to find the right shoes. (But I have enough pairs of shoes in my closet to come up with something so I don't have to go out and buy another pair.)
Anyway, I think my husband and I have decided that today is the deep clean day - we're trying to get all of the junk off the floor so we can actually vacuum and I'm trying to get my laundry under control. We do need to pick up more laundry detergent and my husband also needs to check in on a few things while we're out, but on the plus side it's not like we have huge plans for today so the cleaning will be front and center of our to-do list.
