( I AM NOT A LOSER! XP )
I got my gravy folks, and a nice bit of it, too. Honestly, I was sure that I wouldn't make it. After all, this was my very first year doing NaNo - add to that all of the other things that I had to do last month and it was a scramble.
Okay, okay, it wasn't a HUGE scramble. Most of my time was spent making a party dress for my husband's upcoming (re: Saturday night) company Christmas party. Why make a dress, you may ask? Because the store selections suck. I don't like any of the designs, nothing looked particularly flattering and last year I ended up wearing the same dress as my husband's boss's wife. And another lady. So this year, to avoid a similar fashion faux pas, I made my dress. From a Vintage Vogue pattern circa 1957. It's a lovely dress, made of black taffeta (the fabric was on sale at $2.99 a yard) which means I can dress it up, dress it down, and more or less anything in between. Yes, I made my very own LBD (little black dress). Coco Chanel would be proud. Instead of the floor length gown that I had originally wanted, I opted for the tea length, after much debate with

The best part about this dress is that I have a unique dress that is fitted specifically to me, and it only cost me $73 dollars. That included the fabric, the lining, thread, buttons, snaps, hooks, and the pattern. I don't think I could have found a dress for under $75 ANYWHERE. All hail the mighty powers of the sewing machine!
Anyway, I think I'm going to kick back and relax tonight. Since Dancing With the Stars wrapped last week and NaNo is over for the year, I'm officially bogged down in free time. Which will either be spent playing video games or reading Ranma 1/2 online.
