John Williams is my homeboy
Aug. 30th, 2009 03:35 pmOkay, aside from needing the Indiana Jones movies (really, my movie collection will not be complete until I get them, and I can't keep my parents' copies forever), I need the soundtracks too.
I've always been a big fan of John Williams' work. Star Wars, Harry Potter movies one, two and three (and anytime Hedwig's Theme is heard through the rest of the series), Memoirs of a Geisha, Superman, Jaws, Jurassic Park, E.T. the Extraterrestrial and of course Indiana Jones. Admit it, you hear the opening bars of "Raiders March" and all you see is Harrison Ford and that fedora. Got to love the fedora.
ANYWAY. I've been looking for the soundtracks, and no matter how you slice it - Barnes and Nobel is the best place to get them. So, with my next special coupon (be it 15% or 20%) I'm going to buy myself the complete soundtrack collection. Even without the special member discount that I have, it's cheaper at B&N than at Amazon.com or even iTunes. Not sure how the hell that happened, but it did. So. When I get the cash monies I'm going to get it. Because let's face it folks, with the member savings and the coupon, it'll be about the same price as buying it used off of Amazon.com - I'm not an idiot. I know how to save.
I am such a whore for soundtracks. ^^;;
EDIT -
teamspyder pointed out that he also did the theme for Sunday Night Football. He also did the "Olympic Fanfare and Theme", and the TV show Lost in Space.
This man is a genius and a musical god.
