I realized that it was time to do laundry when 1) the pile had spilled out of the hamper and on to the floor and 2) I was running out of clean underwear.  Apparently that aspect of college life hasn't quite left me yet (You Know You're a College Student When...your underwear dictates your laundry days).  At any rate, it was time to do laundry because it's also that time of year when I'm starting to wear tennis shoes and socks instead of flip flops and sandals - without socks.  (I may be from the Pacific Northwest but even I think it's tacky to wear socks with sandals.)  And I only have a limited number of socks.

Add to this a full dishwasher that needs to be emptied and a guest room with an unmade bed, and I actually have stuff to do.  Y'know, aside from being on the computer all day.

I also just bought the Indiana Jones Complete Soundtrack Collection from B&N because I has teh monies AND a coopun.  While it's not the complete score (in which case the CD for the Last Crusade would be damn near two hours long), it's the complete soundtracks - which means I don't have to buy them individually.  And it was cheaper - way cheaper - than buying on Amazon.com.  By about twenty dollars.  Though I suppose I could have bought it used off of Amazon, but you never know what you're going to get when you buy used.  Most of the time it's not a problem but there are times where you do get bitten in the ass by it, so with stuff that I actually want and want in a good condition, I'll happily pay full price - even if "full price" takes some shopping around to find the cheapest product brand-spanking new.

The only problem is that I've been really tired as of late.  I go to bed at a fairly reasonable hour (no later than 11:30, as of late, when I usually go to bed at some time past midnight), but I still can't wake up until nine or nine-thirty.  I don't think that I'm sick (I hardly ever interact with the outside world since I don't have a job), I really don't have allergies (irritated by dust, just like MOST of the planet), and I don't think I'm pregnant.  I mean, I guess it IS possible, me being a married woman and all that, but I really wonder if I need to make some serious life changes here.  Start eating more fruits and veggies, drink more water, exercise a little every day...

ZOMG, at twenty-five I should not be looking to buy the Indiana Jones Lego sets for myself.  Especially since I do not have the room for them.  I should also not be looking at the various incarnations of Mr. Potato Head (Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, Storm Trooper, Clone Troopers, R2-D2, Darth Vader, and Indy, to name a few).  Jebus fuck on a stick.  I'm too told for this shit.

But I want it anyway.

As it stands, I was downloading the Lego Indiana Jones avatars, and am seriously contemplating buying the game because it looks ridiculously fun.  Like the Lego Star Wars games.  Not that I need the games.  Again we come back to wants.

WTF self.  Grow the fuck up already.

Now, I will allow myself to look at various Lego sets because my baby brother (well, he's not a baby anymore, he's turning 12)  has a birthday coming up and he loves Legos, and K'nex, and Erector Sets...well, anything you can build with, let's put it that way, shall we?  So at some point this weekend I have to go and get something for my brother's birthday, a card, and maybe some wrapping paper.  I may need to get another roll of some nice, all purpose, gender/occasion neutral wrapping paper since I honestly can't remember how much of it I have left.

Okay, aside from needing the Indiana Jones movies (really, my movie collection will not be complete until I get them, and I can't keep my parents' copies forever), I need the soundtracks too.

I've always been a big fan of John Williams' work. Star Wars, Harry Potter movies one, two and three (and anytime Hedwig's Theme is heard through the rest of the series), Memoirs of a Geisha, Superman, Jaws, Jurassic Park, E.T. the Extraterrestrial and of course Indiana Jones. Admit it, you hear the opening bars of "Raiders March" and all you see is Harrison Ford and that fedora. Got to love the fedora.

ANYWAY. I've been looking for the soundtracks, and no matter how you slice it - Barnes and Nobel is the best place to get them. So, with my next special coupon (be it 15% or 20%) I'm going to buy myself the complete soundtrack collection. Even without the special member discount that I have, it's cheaper at B&N than at Amazon.com or even iTunes. Not sure how the hell that happened, but it did. So. When I get the cash monies I'm going to get it. Because let's face it folks, with the member savings and the coupon, it'll be about the same price as buying it used off of Amazon.com - I'm not an idiot. I know how to save.

I am such a whore for soundtracks. ^^;;

EDIT - [livejournal.com profile] teamspyder pointed out that he also did the theme for Sunday Night Football.  He also did the "Olympic Fanfare and Theme", and the TV show Lost in Space.

This man is a genius and a musical god.

First of all - I have a job interview at the Clarion Hotel tomorrow.  ^_^  Completely unexpected, but not wholly unpleasant.  It's a nice place, the rehearsal dinner for my wedding was held there.  Anyway, hoping for something front desk part time if I can.  Otherwise I do have other options since I applied to a Montessori school today (and have my resume out to other places as well).

Secondly, just watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  I've been doing a Jones movie night for the last four days - leading up to Crystal Skull since I started watching it while waiting for for a friend to finish at the plasma donation center (and got an hour and fifteen into it, I found out tonight).  To this I have to say: George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, if you're going to do anything with aliens, stick with Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind respectively.  Not that it was bad - it IS a send up to the B-action movies of the 1950s and all - but there were some parts where I just sort of sighed and rolled my eyes.  But what the hell, it's a fun movie, made me laugh, and kept me entertained for two hours (though for parts of it I was doing other things, like mending a dress or updating Facebook or taking calls regarding interviews).  John Williams is a genius with the score, as always, and it was nice to hear Marion's theme again.  And since we're on the topic of Marion, there's really no woman for Indy than spitfire Marion Ravenwood, probably the only woman who could best Indy, PERIOD.

And Harrison Ford.  The man has aged brilliantly.  :3  Even in his mid-sixties, he's kicking like he's in his forties...like he was when the ORIGINAL movies were done.  Shia LaBeouf is amazing as Mutt, who is a greaser with a prep school upbringing.  The leather jacket and the motorcycle - yeah, pretty nice.  He's an amazing actor and there will be great things to come in his future.

/rambling.

I'm excited about my interview - tomorrow will be spent in my closet going, "What the hell am I going to wear?!"
