So
travellyr had a piece in a show in Vancouver, and wanted someone to accompany her on the drive. After choice one declined because she was off to Idaho, I was picked as choice two. Especially since we would be meeting up with
irksnapple and
chaosblue . XD
We drove down yesterday, straight through, no stops except to get gas and pee, so we wouldn't get caught up in going, "Oh look, pretty waterfall!" and be late for the show opening. After getting turned around in the Portland/Vancouver area a few times and getting acquainted with the scenic loop, we managed to find parking and the gallery where her toaster was. Since we had some time to kill before the official opening of the show, we wandered around downtown Vancouver and spent some time shutter bugging in Esther Short Park. After a couple of cries of "Cult of Salmon!" we finished snapping photos and headed back to the gallery to mingle and await Irk and Char.
Once we tired of the art gallery scene (and creating new tee-shirt designed based around the line, "Bob Ross LIED!") we went back to Char's place to drink, but not before Steph and I got lost trying to get to Fred Meyer to meet Irk and Char and their friend Jess to get drunk munchies.I think we code named those drunchies. Anyway. Once back at Irk and Char's place, we made junk food and margaritas and all that, drinking, telling stupid stories and merry making until one in the morning-ish, and Steph and I stayed up for another two hours playing solitare, talking and all in all, not sleeping.
After five hours of sleep I was wide awake and raring to go, so I watched Ouran High School Host Club while waiting for other people to return or wake up, all while nomming on turkey pepperoni to get my blood sugar back under control. After breakfast, plenty of whoring of OHSHC and packing up Steph's car, we left Portland.
Road trip back was fairly uneventful, save a stop at Stonehenge, and we reached home without incident.
...whoa. Too tired to even form truly coherent thoughts right now.
Cool. Time for a shower and BED.

Date: 2009-04-05 04:34 pm (UTC)(That's Vancouver, Washington and not Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.)
I'm posting a few of the pictures on my deviantART account for no other reason than that they're pretty. XD
