First U.S. Drinking Water Samples Show Radiation from Japan, Bosie, Richland, Wa.

....

Okay, first of all, the important thing to realize here is that you'd have to drink something like 7000L of the stuff to reach the amount of environmental radiation we're exposed to every day. You'll die of water poisoning before you feel any effects from the radiation.

Second, they might wanna double check their facts, as Richland is southwest of a nuclear power plant (and north of a chemical weapons depot, but that's not important right now). It certainly wouldn't be the first time we've found radioactive isotopes in the drinking water.

Ah well. My sister, who's a rad chemist out on site says it's nothing to worry about. When she starts panicking, then I'll start panicking.

It makes me wonder just how much "truth" we're getting from any of the news outlets and how much of it is exaggerated because people wouldn't believe them if they told the truth.
