I had fun at Katie's bridal shower last night, even if I was the only person there who was not involved with the bride's family, the groom's family or the wedding itself. There were more door prizes than guests, actually. So I got me a nice basket full of tea, a mug, and one of those clampy-things that you use to get all of the liquid out of a tea bag. (I made some chai tea for breakfast this morning - it was really good. ^^) Most of all, I got to see Katie who I do not get to see nearly enough mostly because we can never seem to be on the same wavelength long enough to work something out so we can see each other.

She also took the opportunity last  night to inform me that we can wear whatever we're comfortable in to the wedding.  Yes, that's right, I could go in my pajamas if I felt so inclined.  And yes, going in my pajamas is tempting.  It's also tempting to go in cosplay of some kind.  Dress up as a gangster and be the Bride's Mafia.  Or just wear slacks and a nice shirt.  Though I was informed that jeans and my AX tee shirt were perfectly acceptable as well.  But the keywords to what I do decide to ultimately wear comes down to 1) comfort and 2) outdoors.  I'm actually tempted to wear my pinstripe suit just because it has a jacket.

Anyway, I still have a week and a half to figure something out.  And if I really can't find something, I'll just go in my pajamas.  Or cosplay.

One of my good friends from high school is getting married in just under two weeks, and tonight is her bridal shower. Apparently formal invites were sent out a week ago, but are as yet to reach their destination. So last night her maid of honor was frantically making phone calls to people whose numbers the bride has to invite them to the shower tonight.

Add to this the dilemma of finding something to wear to the actual wedding. I have a lovely white sundress I could pair with a pink cardigan, but I almost feel that the dress is too short and summery for an early fall wedding. I have a nice blue dress, which could be described as a loli dress, but it's just a hare too small and won't zip - unless I feel like putting myself into a corset. Which I don't. The dress I bought in E-burg at [livejournal.com profile] travellyr 's graduation is very nice, but also strapless. I also have put off washing it since Miami. And it probably needs it since Miami in August equals lots of perspiration.  This leaves me with a very clingy wrap dress I could wear, but I'd have to invest in quite a bit of shape wear so I don't scare anyone because I am not as skinny as I was when I got it.  There's a sleeveless striped dress, but it's a little snug.  There's also the party dress I made for my husband's company Christmas party last year.  It's black and tea-length (just under the knee) and a halter.  I was thinking about getting either a shrug or one of those drapey shawl-sweaters along with a flower I could pin to the hip.  So far it's looking like my best bet, even though it's going to take a little work to make it wedding appropriate.

Anyway, I should find something to eat.  With just over an hour until I have to leave for the bridal shower, I need me some foodage.
