Because the people that I work under won't be in the office until 11 this morning, I don't have to be in the office until then. Of course, I still have to be to my official employer's office at nine to finish up training (something about going over the employee handbook) but still - that's two hours later than I would normally start. Hopefully having to be in at seven tomorrow won't kick my ass.

Anyway, I'll probably spend the two hours making myself look presentable and whatnot - I bought several new shirts yesterday because most of the work appropriate shirts that I own I can't wear because my boobs are too big. Honestly, never thought I'd have THAT problem. However I now have shirts (at least two weeks worth) AND material for skirts. Both are linen, one being a narrow black and white stripe and the other is a off white (I think they called it Ivory Amaretto but the thread I bought to match it is Winter White). I was at a loss to find fabric yesterday, as what was cute and on sale was all very loudly printed and really not that great for skirts, especially if you want to be able to mix and match. However, I figure the black and white stripe and the Ivory Amaretto are neutral and will go with darn near anything.

Less than a week until SakuraCon, one month (exactly) to my birthday, and just a little over two hours until I need to be to work.

I should probably go take my shower, huh?

I had fun at Katie's bridal shower last night, even if I was the only person there who was not involved with the bride's family, the groom's family or the wedding itself. There were more door prizes than guests, actually. So I got me a nice basket full of tea, a mug, and one of those clampy-things that you use to get all of the liquid out of a tea bag. (I made some chai tea for breakfast this morning - it was really good. ^^) Most of all, I got to see Katie who I do not get to see nearly enough mostly because we can never seem to be on the same wavelength long enough to work something out so we can see each other.

She also took the opportunity last  night to inform me that we can wear whatever we're comfortable in to the wedding.  Yes, that's right, I could go in my pajamas if I felt so inclined.  And yes, going in my pajamas is tempting.  It's also tempting to go in cosplay of some kind.  Dress up as a gangster and be the Bride's Mafia.  Or just wear slacks and a nice shirt.  Though I was informed that jeans and my AX tee shirt were perfectly acceptable as well.  But the keywords to what I do decide to ultimately wear comes down to 1) comfort and 2) outdoors.  I'm actually tempted to wear my pinstripe suit just because it has a jacket.

Anyway, I still have a week and a half to figure something out.  And if I really can't find something, I'll just go in my pajamas.  Or cosplay.

So, today has been a house cleaning kind of day.  No, I'm not scrubbing every little thing because ZOMG DIRTY.  It's more of a, "Whoa, the clutter is spreading and I should probably get it under control."

This started in my closet, where my massive shoe collection was taking over the floor, followed by the massive amounts of clothing that I own.  And hey!  Wouldn't you know it, about a quarter of it I don't wear anymore or can't fit in to.  (Seriously, what IS it about marriage that makes you pack on the pounds anyway?!)   A couple of  pairs of shoes gave up the ghost and were tossed, and another couple of pairs were merely taking up space and therefore put into the Goodwill pile.  Clothes that were discarded from the closet were first given to my sister to pick through (because even though she's taller than me, she's skinny and therefore can fit into anything that I can't) before being thrown into the Goodwill pile as well.

There was also a massive pile of laundry, somewhat left over from my trip to California, so that was also thrown into the washer because it was spilling out of the hamper onto the floor.  And hey, the weather's nice (minimal breeze, pretty warm) so I had my husband string up the nylon cord on the balcony when he came home for lunch and have been drying my clothes on that - with the exception of socks and underwear because I'm not an exhibitionist, and the person with the balcony across from mine probably doesn't want to see my bright pink panties.  My reasons for using the clothes line is not because it's the green thing to do, it's more that I'm cheap and don't feel like paying for using the electricity to run the dryer when there is a perfectly good clothes line strung up on the balcony, along with the wooden drying rack that usually takes up space in front of the guest room door.  I did, however, still use the dryer because I'm not hanging my underwear outside in a communal backyard.  I'll rethink it when I have a private backyard with fence around it.  Maybe high hedges.

At any rate, the dry laundry is now inside waiting to be folded, which I'm dragging my feet in actually doing because I've been going, going, going since I got up.  I still need to find a home for the bags/purses that were also being stashed, and I need to refold the sweaters and buttondowns that are also hiding on the shelf and hope to God that I can actually talk myself into getting rid of them because I will never wear them again, and there's no point in hanging into them because I'M NEVER GOING TO WEAR THEM AGAIN.

Curse my pack-rat like tendencies.
